Claim Medicare Rebates on Appointments.

With a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you can claim Medicare rebates on appointments with David Nowland because he is a registered provider with Medicare.

Am I eligible to claim a rebate?

Medicare rebates are available for people with “an assessed mental disorder” that is being managed by a GP under a GP Mental Health Care Plan or through a psychiatrist assessment and management plan, or for treatment of a child, on direct referral from a psychiatrist or a paediatrician.

How do I obtain a referral?

To obtain the initial referral, you will usually need to make an extended appointment with your GP – so the GP has time to ask you questions and complete a Mental Health Care Plan for you.

With this plan,  you will be entitled to a Medicare rebate of 10 individual psychological therapy sessions per calendar year. After 6 sessions David will prepare a brief report and send it to your GP.  You then must make an appointment with your GP for a review to obtain a further 4 sessions if you still require treatment.  You must then bring the review paperwork to your next appointment.

How do I Claim the rebate?

You must bring your Mental Health Care Plan with you to your first appointment, in order to be eligible for a Medicare rebate. After paying your session fee, David will process your rebate directly with Medicare and Medicare will deposit your rebate directly into your bank account by the end of the next business day.

Booking an appointment is easy.

Appointments are available on Monday to Thursday from 10am to 7:30pm , on Friday from 8am to 12pm, and on Saturday from 8am to 10am.   I am registered to offer Medicare and Private Health Insurance rebates.
